BELLE ELEMENTARY OCTOBER BOARD STUDENT OF THE MONTH!
I believe that Kwinton Green should be student of the month. He is a hard worker and gives his all in everything that he does. He is kind and respectful to others and is always willing to help out wherever he can. He is such a wonderful part of my class.

Meet the Second Grade Teachers!
Mrs. Gehlert
My name is Sarah Gehlert. I graduated from Owensville High School in 1999. I received my B.S. Ed. in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood Education through Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri.
This is my eighth year as a teacher, my fifth as a second grade teacher. I previously taught second grade in Owensville where my children attend school. I have also taught first, third, and fourth grade. Now that my children are older and out of the elementary school in Owensville, I am excited to be teaching in Belle where I have resided for 23 years with my husband Lucas Gehlert. We have three children, Ella 18 - a freshman at Freed Hardeman University in Tennessee, Hannah 15, and Josiah 11.
Mrs. Giesey
My name is Jenni Giesey. I grew up in Defiance, OH and graduated from Defiance High School, then I graduated from Bowling Green State University, with a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education. My first teaching experience was as a kindergarten teacher at a private school in my hometown. Marriage came next and a move to South Carolina, where I then taught 7th grade math for 3 years. Teaching went on hold as I became a very busy mom, raising 7 babies to adulthood. I updated my teaching certificate, with Missouri, in 2018 and have been happily teaching 2nd grade at Belle Elementary ever since. This is my 6th year teaching at Belle, but my 10th year of teaching overall.
Those seven kids: 3 are married, no grandbabies yet, just “grand pets”! One works in finance, two are teachers, one works in college administration, one is preparing to go on the mission field in Japan, one is a chef, and one works part-time and is figuring out what career field to enter. Mr. Giesey, when not working at Brewer Science, referees high school football and wrestling. For fun, I love to play Wordscapes on my Ipad daily, read when I can, walk, and try to work in my flowerbeds, and I love old films and tv shows.
Ms. Helling
Hi! My name is Amber Helling and I am a 2nd grade teacher here at Belle Elementary School. I live in Owensville with my daughter and dog. In 2020 I graduated from Missouri Baptist University with my bachelors. Currently I am working on my Masters in Elementary Education and enjoying life with my little. This will be my 2nd year teaching and 4th year in education. I am so excited to meet you all at open house August 17th 4:30-7PM in room 12!
Teaching is my passion and getting better at it every day is my job!

ARTSONIA
Artsonia permission forms went out recently. If you haven’t given permission yet for your kiddo to show off their work online, now is a GREAT time to do it! You’ll be able to see what they are up to in art class, and you can order items with their artwork on it! There are a good range of items for purchase, and they are all great quality! These make really wonderful Christmas gifts, Mother’s Day/Father’s Day gifts, birthday gifts, or even just because gifts! I still have a key chain my now Freshman in college created the artwork for in 4th grade! The art department does get a kick back from purchases, which helps me pay for things to build up my classroom!
You can check out the website at www.artsonia.com, but will need the permission form with your student’s access code on it to grant permission for others to see their work. Feel free to contact me at atibbetts@mariesr2.org if you have any questions, or if you need the access code!
