University School Weekly Update
March 8-12, 2021
Return Information and Survey for Grades 7, 8, 10, 11, & 12
We are happy to announce that we will be moving to a 4-day in-person schedule beginning Monday, March 29, 2021 for all students, grades K-12. In order to make any necessary seating adjustments to our classrooms for those grades moving from a 2-day in-person to a 4-day week, we ask that all of our Grades 7,8, 10, 11, & 12 families please complete the following survey by clicking on this link.
Please understand that every effort will be made to maintain 6ft. distancing to the greatest extent possible; however, due to our limited amount of classroom space some areas will be less than 6ft. In addition to maximizing our distancing to the greatest extent possible, the following safety measures, will remain in effect and be expected for all of our in-person students:
- Approved face coverings are required (please refer to the ETSU Face Covering Policy for further guidance).
- Handwashing and sanitizing should take place frequently and upon entering and existing classrooms.
- Desks should be wiped at the beginning and end of each class.
- Follow all directional signs posted throughout the building.
- Students should bring a refillable water bottle and necessary supplies for all classes.
- Remote students are expected to attend all assigned classes synchronously. If you are absent from a class, a parent must contact the school office to report the absence.
- Students scheduled to attend in-person must have a parent contact the office if they are unable to attend in-person.
We are excited to have the opportunity for our students to return on this four day schedule (please refer to school calendar in the weekly update) on Monday, March 29, 2021. Please remember to complete the return survey as soon as possible and feel free to reach out to us if you have further questions.
Since this program is being supported through state funding, University School students going into K-8 grade may participate. The program begins will begin June 1st. The new school year will begin on July 7 for University School, so any student participating may only do so for the first 4 weeks. Although University School will not be a host site, families may choose to attend any of the other designated Washington County School sites but may be required to provide their own transportation.
Please see the details below and fill out the following survey (students must be currently enrolled in Washington County Schools including University School) if you are interested in possibly having your rising K-8th grader(s) attend one of these programs.

Yearbook Orders
It is finally that time of the year to order the 2020/2021 school yearbooks. Due to our altered schedule, we are a little behind in getting this up and running, but we are now ready to accept orders. The deadline for placing a yearbook order is April 12.
There is no price increase for the yearbooks this year. The elementary/middle school yearbook is $28.00 while the high school yearbook is $40.
For the convenience of online ordering, there is a processing fee assessed by our publisher; therefore, the total cost will be $42.00 for high school and $29.40 for elementary/middle school.
In addition, this year we are offering at a cost the option for you to have your child’s name written on the book. This will cost $4.95 per book. You will add that to your online order.
Directions for ordering online: Go to http://yblive.net; Click on shop online and locate our school by city and state and click okay.
To Purchase: Click on yearbook and select order to place it in your shopping cart.
You will then be asked to log in or create an account. Follow the steps to check out.
If you have any questions, please email me at hammondse@etsu.edu or call the school.
