Greetings Mustangs!

It has been another busy week at Brookwood! On Thursday evening, Mrs. Garrett and Mrs. Horak hosted a beautiful Art Show at BMS. The cafeteria and surrounding hallways were transformed into a gorgeous gallery with swanky music playing and even passed hors d'oeuvres! Immediately thereafter, Mrs. Collins and Ms. Bullock took the stage to lead a wonderful Spring Concert. The evening was a spectacular showcase of our students' and teachers' talents. Thanks to all who attended!

Offsite learning was the name of the game this past week and will continue to be this week as well! Our 8th graders had one last hurrah together at the Beloit Sky Carp game. Our 7th graders enjoyed a trip to the Milwaukee County Zoo. Our 4th graders traveled to Old World Wisconsin for a hands-on Social Studies lesson. And, next week, ALL of BES will travel to Green Meadows Petting Farm for the day! We are loving all of the hands-on opportunities to learn together!

Mark your calendars for the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!! We would like to invite all parents of BMS students, grades 4-7, to attend our end-of-year awards ceremony and outdoor picnic! The awards ceremony will be held in the gym, and will start at 9:30am. Immediately following the awards, we will then have an outdoor picnic lunch. Parents will have the option to then check out with their students and receive their students' report cards. Please stay tuned for more information regarding the BES last day of school picnic.

It's hard to believe, but the big day is almost here for our 8th graders...graduation day! Graduation will be held on June 1st, at 6:30pm at BMS. The ceremony will be held outside, and we will plan to move indoors if the weather doesn't cooperate. Seating will is unlimited and will be on a first come, first served basis.

8th grade students should report to the 4/5 wing at BMS at 5:30pm SHARP for pictures.

Congratulations to the following BES Be Brookwood Shout Out Winners!

As we wind down the 2022-2023 school year, Mrs. Deephouse's class is continuing to focus on math skills they have learned. They are demonstrating their knowledge through math based games. They are also busy creating art projects to work on their scissors skills and working on sentence structure to make their writing even better. We do manage to squeeze in some fun time as well. It is an exciting time to be a kindergarten student at Brookwood Elementary School.

This week, the 4th Graders took a step back in time on Thursday when they visited Old World Wisconsin! They learned about Historic Pastimes of early Wisconsin Settlers, such as bike riding and putting on plays for different clubs. Students were able to see different bikes that were used throughout the years, explore buildings that were built in the late 1800's, and even put on a small play. Based on the smiles on the students' faces, they had a great time!

Congratulations to the track team on their performance in Wednesday’s meet! With that behind us, we’ve made it to the end of Mustang Athletics for this year. Please double check your homes for any athletic uniforms that may be hiding out and return them to the BMS office. We appreciate all of your support and encouragement of our student-athletes! Hope to see you at our end-of-year awards on Friday, June 2nd, where we will recognize all of our athletes in 4th-7th grade.

Once again, we are excited to announce that we will be partnering with our friends from Ed Clark Photography to help our 8th Grade families capture this milestone event. Throughout the school year Brookwood has many opportunities for parents to partner with the school through volunteering. Some of these will include, but not limited to, chaperoning field trips, assisting during classroom activities, large school or district wide events, etc. To ensure the safety of all our students, all volunteers need to submit and pass a background check. These forms can be completed ahead of time and individuals will be added to the approved volunteer list. This is good for the school year. If you intend to volunteer, feel free to complete the attached forms and send the forms to your child's school office. Thank you for your cooperation and involvement.
