10+2 Weekly Update
Fourth Grade Classroom Happenings
MAP TESTING DATES
We will be completing MAP testing sessions on the mornings of April 18, 20, 21. It would be really helpful if you could ensure your child has had a good nights rest, healthy breakfast, and a positive attitude. I believe they will do amazing and I would appreciate any extra encouragement or reminders you could provide them as well. Thank you in advance.
** There will be no homework next week due to testing **
Test Prep Tips:
- Get a good night's sleep
- Eat a healthy breakfast
- Think positive thoughts
- Enjoy the evenings (play outside, dine with your family, etc)
Thank you 3M Wizards!
Chemical Reactions
We were able to watch chemical reactions, make elephant toothpaste, and discuss chemical reactions in our world.
Polymers
Our 3M wizard talked all about the properties of polymers. We were able to try an experiment with ballons and skewers while also seeing some of the plastic items that are made at 3M.
Electromagnetic Motor
The kids used magnets, copper wire, alligator clips, and batteries to attempt to create an electromagnetic motor. It was a hard task, but some groups were able to successfully complete the mission.
Making Inferences
We have been working hard to make inferences in reading, but this week we applied these skills to our writing. Using Chris Van Allsburg's book, The Mysteries of Harris Burdock, we crafted imaginative stories.
Thank you to all those who attended our Grand Evening!
I'm sorry I didn't capture more pictures of this event.
We had many families attend and enjoy exploring our school. Thank you!
