Renovation Updates

We don't have too many updates to share this month; however, below, you'll find a few highlights since last month's community meeting:

renovation plans, along with an additional funding request, were presented to the WCPSS Board of Education a few weeks ago - requests for approval of the design narratives and increase in funding were granted
WCPSS transportation department presented general information at our recent 'community meeting' and they affirmed their commitment to work with families to the extent possible to promote a smooth transition; they will offer a survey within the next few months to collect input and hear specific concerns to guide their planning work
we've heard numerous concerns related to before/after school care; we're working to secure a date to meet with representatives from the Alexander YMCA to identify the extent of the services that will be provided (before & after school will be provided!)
preliminary renovation plans for the Wiley South campus were provided this week - you'll find drawings below - the turnaround will be quick next summer, only about 8 weeks to transition the site from a Ninth Grade Center to Wiley South
