It’s not too late to come to our last two Site Council meetings and share your ideas! Help us with school improvement projects related to Family Engagement. Family event planning, school communication, and community building have been a few of our areas of focus so far. We would love for you to share your thoughts!

Last week, Sra. Hippner's 1st grade class decided to send valentines to kids in the hospital at Banner and TMC for their Class of the Week project. Students from other classes can drop off their Valentines by Friday this week, outside of Sra. Hippner's classroom. Click HERE to see the fun video they made.

Ms. Perrella's class is the Class of the Week this week!

A few 3rd Grade students have invited all students to participate in the Trash Titans Club during lunch recess where students pick-up trash around campus. All that’s needed is a trash bag and gloves!

Since the beginning of the school year, 1st-5th graders have had the option to pick a lunch club to attend during lunch recess on designated days. Students can choose if they want to sign up for Yoga Club (Ms. Lankes), Drawing Club (Ms. Fouts), and Piano Club (Mr. Koenig). Sign-up sheets are posted outside the room where the club is held.

Mrs. McCoy also hosts Smiling Minds Club for 3rd graders in the counseling office where they listen to calm music, learn relaxation techniques that can support learning, color to relax, and talk through friendship issues and other topics of interest.

And of course, Mileage Club is still offered each Thursday for all grades.

Only students get to decide if they participate in recess clubs. Sorry--no parent choices allowed! :)

One of the best ways to help students be successful is through family-teacher partnerships that involve working together on goals. Teachers have put together new FTT activities for families and will be sending them out soon.

Thank you for participating in Family Teacher Teams again over the next few weeks!

Poems need to be typed or written neatly and have your student's name, grade level and teacher’s name written on the back. Teachers & Ms. Hawkins have entry forms, which need to be signed by a parent. Poems need to be submitted to classroom teachers by February 18th.

This is a fun way to share students' amazing writing and creativity with the Ventana Vista community! Three poems from each grade level will be selected to move forward to the district competition.

Students have run over 2,500 miles this year during Mileage Club, way to go Bobcats!

February is Heart Health Month and Ventana Vista students are raising money for the American Heart Association by participating in Mileage Club. A sponsor will donate $2 for every mile completed in the month of February and so far students have raised $334. So awesome!

This month's Dine Out will be Monday, February 28 at Rubio's on Campbell from 4-8pm.

Our main fundraiser of the year will kick off in a few weeks! Challenges this year will once again be completed both at home and at school and will be more STEM based. Be on the lookout for information on registering on PledgeStar and pledge sheets and challenges being sent home.
