News from Bertram

Bertram Elementary and all of BCISD will be celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, January 20th, 2020 as "a day on, not a day off." Our entire school community will be engaged in acts of service. PreK, Kindergarten, and 5th Graders are writing notes of thanks to the Joann Cole Mitte Memorial Library. Additionally, PreK and Kindergarten are bringing in coins for "Pennies for Books". The Joann Cole Mitte Memorial Library hosts our youngest Bulldogs for story times throughout the year.


First Grade students will be spending time beautifying the playground areas. They will learn the importance of showing care and concern for our community. Second Grade will write letters to residence of the Bertram Nursing Home sending well wishes and cheer to these important members of our town. Third Grade will work to beautify the walking track areas. 4th graders will be learning about Martin Luther King Jr. and the impact he had on civil rights. Students will write letters of appreciation to the Bertram Fire Department, and they will be picking up trash/debris around the Classic Building.

Bertram Gem of Appreciation

The Bertram Elementary staff overwhelming named Peter Null as our January Gem of Appreciation. Mr. Peter is always smiling and never hesitates to give a helping hand! He goes above and beyond to ensure that the school is clean and safe for the students. His generous and kind heart calls him to see that the needs of all of our students are met. We are grateful to have Peter as part of our Bertram family!

Lunch Schedules

PreK: 11:05-11:35

Kinder: 11:00-11:30

1st: 11:15-11:45

2nd: 11:30-12:00

3rd: 12:15-12:45

4th: 12:00-12:30

5th: 11:50-12:20


Parents are welcome to check in at the office and then meet their child in the cafeteria. We ask that you enjoy lunch with your student at one of our guest tables. For the safety of all students, parents and guardians will only be able to provide and eat lunch with their student/s.

Please remember to bring a valid photo ID when picking your student up early or when coming to campus to visit or volunteer.

By completing the BCISD volunteer application, you can contribute to BES in many ways including PTO, field trips, and helping around the school.

Car Rider Line

Please be sure to enter the car rider line at the driveway that passes by the side of the gym. The car tag sensor is located there. By driving by the sensor, we are able to stage your children in the correct order to allow all families to experience a quick and efficient dismissal.
