Caregiver Update
Watch us SOAR!
Dear Caregivers,
Thank you to all of the caregivers who were able to come in last week for conferences. I know we still have some happening this week as well. It is so important for us to continue to partner with each other and keep the home school connection strong. I just experienced parent conferences this morning for my own children. I am grateful to be able to have time with my own children's teachers and to get a window into their world of school. Like many of you, I deal with the shoulder shrugs or the responses of "I don't know" when I ask them what they did or learned about in school. I promise you...they are learning and doing so much everyday! It just doesn't always get shared at home, which is why conferences and other communication connections throughout the year are so important.
Teachers have been doing lots of their own learning today during the professional development day. Educators have been diving into resources related to writing instruction, social emotional learning, and technology tools to name a few of the different topics discussed today. Just a reminder that there will be another no school day on Friday in honor of Veteran's Day. As a way to celebrate our shoe collection community service project, and because it's a different kind of a week, we will be having a cardboard creation day on Thursday, Nov. 9! See down below for more info.
Thank you to all of the community members who donated shoes to our shoe drive. The truck is coming tomorrow morning to collect all of the bags of shoes that we collected! Thanks to the PTO for organizing this fundraiser/community service project.
We are planning a new family event during the week of Thanksgiving. On Tuesday morning, Nov. 21, we are going to host Breakfast and BINGO! Families can come into the cafeteria at 7:45 to play BINGO and enjoy breakfast together. If families are able, they can bring in a non-perishable food donation for us to give to the local food pantry. Prizes will be awarded and our student council members will help call the numbers! See the flyer below and hope Clough families will be able to join us!
Sincerely,
Liz Garden

Cardboard Creation Day is Coming!
We have some Nipmuc students coming to help our students. Thank you to the parents/guardians who have already signed up to help; if you are able to come volunteer for about 45 minutes on Thursday, Nov. 9 sign up here.
Choose To Be Nice
We will be talking to students throughout the year about different core values such as kindness, respect, teamwork, acceptance, patience and several other important values. We are utilizing the Choose To Be Nice program for resources and activities. They have resources for families that can be found here:
https://choosetobenice.com/home-community-resources/Here's a great family BINGO game that I found on their site and wanted to share! We will share other resources and activities throughout the year.
They also have a spot on their website where you can order Choose To Be Nice gear: https://choosetobenice.com/the-shop/
