Access to Digital Resources
Liberty’s libraries continue to build strong digital collections for students and staff. EBooks are available through the library catalog, Tumblebooks, the FollettShelf and OverDrive and may be read on a variety of devices. Databases, websites and web tools to support research and learning can be accessed easily through each school’s library website.
Check out the OverDrive tutorial below created by Christian Harris, a Liberty High School student in the Digital Information class.
Franklin Students Recognized for Library Research
Students at Franklin Elementary were recognized as using the web-based tool InstaGrok the most in the month of January. Katie Fisher, Franklin Library Media Specialist notes, “InstaGrok helps students understand how to search, narrow a topic, use keywords, and evaluate websites. It is a great differentiation tool.” View the full blog posting here. Students across the district have found InstaGrok to be a helpful digital tool.
Liberty Public Schools Library Media Program
The mission of Liberty's school libraries is to prepare students for the future by teaching them to find the information they need, evaluate it and use it to solve problems. As certified teachers, the library media specialist in each school guides students toward success. The library media center provides students with access to thousands of print and digital resources, including fiction and nonfiction books and ebooks, online databases, magazines, newspapers, videos, and soundbooks. Visit the library media section of the district's website to find out more about your school library!
