iMovie Trailers

iMove is a great app for creating and editing videos. One of the nice features is the ability to create Hollywood style movie trailers just like you see in a theater. iMovie Trailers are an excellent way for teachers and students to begin learning about video creation.

iMovie Trailer Task Activity #1

  1. Open the iMovie app
  2. Select “Projects” at the top of the screen then tap the plus sign +
  3. On the “New Project” pop-up, select “Trailer”
  4. Choose one of the 14 templates appropriate for your iMovie Trailer
  5. •Swipe along the bottom of the screen to see the templates; tap the play icon to preview the template
  6. When you have chosen a template, tap “Create” in the top right
  7. Outline: customize the name of your movie, name your studio, and customize the credits
  8. Storyboard: customize the text for each section and add your photos and/or video clips • Customize text: tap in the blue text boxes to bring up the keyboard
  9. Photos and video clips must be in the Photos app on the device
  10. Add photos/video: select Video or Photos in the bottom right
  11. Tap a frame and select the photo or video to add
  12. Edit photos by choosing the start and end point for display
  13. • Edit videos by choosing the portion of the clip to display, must the music sound track so you can hear the video sound track
  14. Take new photos or video right in the app: tap Camera
  15. Preview as you work by tapping the play button in the preview screen
  16. When done, tap the back arrow < at the top, then choose share
  17. Save your video to the Camera Roll and share through your Seesaw student account.
  18. Have fun creating iMovie Trailers!
