Superintendent's Update
Hello Cadet Nation!
Today's sunshine is a welcomed start of a great week here at Connally ISD!
I am supremely excited to share that our Junior High One Act Play received third place at the District 23-4A competition over the weekend at China Spring. The judge gave our students excellent reviews, and many of our talented young thespians left with medals for individual acting honors. Their performance of "10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse" by Don Zolidis was a HIT with the crowd. I found myself alternating between laughing and grinning from ear to ear throughout their entire performance. We have some very talented young performers in this show - I would like to extend my thanks to Ms. Enders and Mr. Meza for working so hard to get them ready for competition. We will announce details for their public performance for the community in the coming days. I strongly encourage you to attend this performance - you won't regret it!
The School Health Advisory Council will hold a meeting tomorrow, January 30, at 4:00 PM in the board room of the administration building. Anyone interested is invited to attend the meeting. Attendees will have an opportunity to preview our human sexuality program curriculum (for junior high and high school students) at 4:45 PM. The program is called "Living Well Aware Adolescent Wellness Program". Additional information regarding the program can be found at this link.
As we near the end of the first month of 2024, it's safe to say that the spring semester is in full force. Our athletic teams are working hard in practices and games and our academic extracurricular teams are doing the same! I predict that all of our students' programs will bring home some impressive awards and honors throughout this season.
We are eagerly preparing for our Senior Citizen Luncheon on February 9. Invitations have gone out to community members over the age of 65 through the postal service. The luncheon will be held at the administration building from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and is come and go. We cannot wait to connect with our community members and showcase all of the great things that are going on here in Connally ISD. To find out more information about the luncheon or RSVP for it, please contact Rebekah Els via email at rels@connally.org or call the administration building directly.
Have a great week!
