The Freshman Academy recently visited Toyota Manufacturing Industry to see first-hand the use of robotics in building Toyota vehicles. Chris Melvin, Organizational Development Group Leader for Toyota meet with students to share information about the importance of people skills in the workplace--a topic the Freshman Academy students have been learning about every day in their classes this year.
Mr. Melvin also shared information about the Advanced Manufacturing Technician Program. This program offers high school graduates the chance to work at Toyota while they earn a degree from Vincennes University. Once their degree is complete, they will be hired directly by Toyota to work in the manufacturing part of the plant, or they can continue with their schooling to earn a degree in engineering or business.
