Pre-Registration

I spent Tuesday, Jan 30 in US History classrooms presenting information on course selection for next school year, SAT & ACT, graduation and diploma requirements and post-secondary plans. On Monday I will begin individual conferences with each student. I've requested that students be prepared by having your input, taking some time to carefully consider their course selections and complete their registration forms. Please be sure to ask your student when they will meet with me and what courses they intend to take.

ACT

Remember, all Juniors will be taking the ACT on February 27, 2018 as part of their school day. I discussed this with your students and they detailed information in the yellow packet they received Tuesday. Students must take the ACT w/writing as part of their graduation requirements.

The goal of high school is to produce young people ready to go into the real world and be productive citizens. This goal isn't achieved only through traditional college options. I encourage students to explore all career options and apprenticeships are often an overlooked, viable career prep option.


Over the last few years Governor Sandoval has placed great emphasis on Career & Technical Education Programs and workforce development programs to address the needs of Nevada's industry. Check out this article in the RJ last summer:
