Recruiting Education Workshop with NCSA
Do you have a student athlete who wants to compete at the college level? Is your child involved in high school athletics and wants to continue this at college?
You are invited to a free recruiting education session at Richmond Hill High School, Wednesday, February 26th at 6:00pm in our east cafeteria!
Join NCSA, Next College Student Athlete, recruiting expert Lindsay Milo to learn about the most important aspects of the college athletic recruiting process. Throughout this free event, she will go over the entire recruiting process, including:
● When recruiting starts
● How to get discovered
● How coaches evaluate recruits
We look forward to seeing you Wednesday evening at 6pm.
Cap and Gown picture day for SENIORS!
CAP & GOWN PICTURE DAY is scheduled for Thursday, March 5 (1st block only) and will be located in the East Gym Lobby. Order forms will be distributed by senior advisors on February 13, and extra order forms will be available from Ms. Crowe (her classroom is in the 700 hallway). Online orders can be made at https://my.lifetouch.com/mylifetouch/#/portrait-store using the school’s picture day ID code EVTZVDPS6. On picture day, seniors must have a completed order form with payment or have a printout of their receipt verifying that they have made an online payment to participate in this activity.
If anyone needs to pick up an additional form please have them see Ms. Crowe in room 710.
Conferences being scheduled for 9th and 11th graders
Spring conferences target 9th and 11th grade advisement students; in the fall, we held 10th and 12th grade conferences.
If you have a child in 9th or 11th grade, please be on the look out for an invitation from your child's advisor to come in for this conference. If you don't get this invitation by mid-March, please let me or another administrator know so that we can work with your child's advisor to make this happen.
Prom 2020 Information
Prom is quickly approaching and will be held at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center on March 28, 2020.
For Students who have PAID their dues:
- Paid dues covers only that student’s ticket.
- A guest ticket for an approved guest will be $50
- Students will pick up the ticket(s) in the east cafeteria during lunch from March 2, 2020 – March 6, 2020.
For Students who have not paid their dues by February 14, 2020
- That student can buy a ticket on MPP for $125
- A guest ticket for a student that has not paid their dues is also $125
- Students will pick up the ticket (s) in the east cafeteria during lunch from March 2, 2020 – March 6, 2020.
For any student who is registering a guest that does not attend RHHS:
- Prom guest registration form that was given out in December, must be completed and given to Mr. Harmon before 2/14/2020. This form is also on the school website -> STUDENTS AND PARENTS -> PROM INFORMATION

Scholarships available
RHHS has a webpage that is devoted exclusively to scholarship opportunities. We strongly encourage students to visit this page regularly. Ms. Jenny Kea, one of our Social Studies teachers, serves as our Honor Committee chair and coordinates scholarships and maintains this webpage. Students in AP Courses
Registration for second semester AP exams is now under way. Students who have not already signed up and paid for their second semester exams should visit TotalRegistration.net/AP/112525 to complete the first part of the registration process.
Students will also be required to join their teacher’s College Board Online Classroom. AP teachers will share this information with students this week. All payments are due no later than February 28, 2020. Please email Mrs. Tanner (mtanner@bryan.k12.ga.us) if you have any questions about AP exams.

Yearbooks are ON SALE for $80 until March 31. To purchase both a senior ad and/or a yearbook, go to www.yearbookordercenter.com and key in our school’s order number (902).
College Visitation Field Trips being planned
At RHHS, many of our juniors and seniors are well into their college preparation. Most are in the process of taking the ACT and SAT - and others are already visiting colleges independently and filling out applications.
RHHS is excited to be offering monthly college field trip opportunities this year to eligible juniors and seniors on a first come/first serve basis for the first 35 students to register.
RHHS junior and senior applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Passing all classes with a 70 or higher
2. No more than 3 tardies
3. No more than 3 excused absences *

Coastal College of Georgia - Brunswick Campus - March 23, 2020
Georgia Southern University - Statesboro Campus - April 2, 2020

Overdrive E-library Update
After school tutorials and detention
Tutorial/detention runs from 2:40 – 4:15 every Monday through Thursday. Students who are on the obligations list for owing detention should plan to stay after school to meet their obligation as soon as possible. Students may also come to this program for extra help from content area teachers. On Mondays, students can receive help in math. An English/Language Arts teacher will be available on Tuesdays. On Wednesday, students can have tutoring in science and Thursdays are Social Studies tutoring.
SAT and ACT test dates and registration information
Fee waivers are available for students on free/reduced lunch. Students should talk to their counselor for more information.
