Alpine ISD Welcomes U.S. Congressman Tony Gonzales
Last week, Alpine ISD was honored to host United States Congressman Tony Gonzales and his team.
Congressman Gonzales was here to learn more about the amazing things that happen every day in Alpine ISD schools!
Congressman Gonzales joined a small group of staff, students, partners, and Board members for a tour of the new Alpine High School. Throughout the tour, the Congressman learned about what this building means to this community.
Additionally, the group toured Alpine Elementary School, where we discussed next step safety and security updates for a decades-old school.
Congressman Gonzales' office has offered support to Alpine ISD and other Alpine organizations in grant-writing for upcoming federal grants. Stay tuned...!
Safety & Security Updates
The Texas Education Agency has announced a series of School Safety Action Steps for Summer 2022 that all school districts must complete by Sept. 1, 2022.
These requirements include:
- Completing a Summer Targeted Partial Safety Audit at each campus
- Completing an Exterior Door Safety Audit at each campus
- Convening a Safety and Security Committee to review emergency operations plans and audit results
District and campus leaders will work with our amazing School Resource Officers (SROs) to complete these action steps over the coming weeks.
Parent/Guardian Safety & Security Survey
Alpine ISD is releasing a Parent/Guardian Safety & Security Survey. All parents of AISD students are asked to complete the survey.
The purpose of this survey is to collect parent/guardian input about upcoming school safety and security policy decisions.
Alpine ISD will be convening a School Safety & Security Committee Meeting in July. The data from this parent/guardian survey will be shared with this committee, as well as district leaders and the Alpine ISD School Board, to help drive decision-making processes.
All responses are anonymous. Email addresses are NOT being collected on this survey.
Please complete this survey by Sunday, July 17th. (Click the buttons below to complete the survey in English or Spanish.)
School Safety & Security Committee
Alpine ISD will convene its Safety & Security Committee on Monday, July 25th.
The purpose of this committee is to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff in Alpine ISD, by coordinating and overseeing safety efforts, safety drills and exercises, school safety and security audits, policy development, and training.
The committee is made up of school district and community partners that collaboratively provide recommendations to the districtโs board of trustees and district administrators.
This committee will include two parents/guardians.
If you're a parent/guardian that is interested in serving on this committee, please click the button below to express your interest.
Alpine Elementary Pre-Registration
Will your child be attending Alpine Elementary School in the fall?
Then, we need you to pre-register them!
All students -- new students, returning students -- in all grades (PK3, PK4, Kindergarten, 1st-4th grades) need to pre-register.
Why?? Usually, more students register in August than we expect. This is great news, but...we want to know about all our students earlier so that we can staff grade levels and classes accordingly. This also allows teachers to know what grade/class they'll be teaching, so they can be even more prepared for your kids.
The good news? It's really easy and fast!
Just complete this short, 7-question form to pre-register your child. That's it! (Click on the buttons below to complete the survey.)
Complete the form once for each child you have attending Alpine Elementary.
The full, formal registration process will open in early August. Stay tuned for more information.
Questions? Contact Mr. Curtis Wubbena at cwubbena@alpineisd.net or (432) 837-7730.
