Superintendent Updates
October 15, 2019
Welcome Carol Delsandro
Good morning Amazing Mountain Lakes Staff!
Please join me in welcoming Carol Delsandro, our new Business Administrator. Carol enjoyed a very busy first day yesterday. We will be visiting schools together this week. Please stop in to say hello and to introduce yourself when you have time. Thank you!
We will also welcome Dr. Sumit Bangia, Assistant Superintendent to our district on November 8, 2019. She will be visiting our schools in the next few weeks to learn more about us.
Wildwood Cafeteria
The demolition of the interior and excavation of the exterior continue at Wildwood. This week steel will be delivered to the upper parking lot, impacting parking and drop-off. Mr. Reid, Sergeant Gil and Ryan Dunn will be sharing a revised plan with you this week. Luckily, it is only expected to impact parking for a week. We are well on our way! Students are enjoying the 'gymeteria" for lunch, but are still working out the kinks for recess. Great job to the amazing Wildwood staff for your patience, collaboration and positive attitudes throughout construction.
Briarcliff Maker's Space
The Maker's Space is almost complete. There are still a few changes and final touches to be made, as Ryan Dunn and Erik Carlson are holding the construction team accountable for their craftsmanship on this project. Thank you Briarcliff staff for your collaboration and creativity in developing these great lessons! I can't wait to see the space come alive with your ideas!
Mountain Lakes High School
Excavation continues at MLHS. Steel should be arriving there this week if it hasn't already. Fingers crossed for a mild winter! Thank you MLHS for your continued support to make MLHS run smoothly and in keeping students engaged in spite of the noise.
Air Quality Update
Thank you all for your patience while Ryan Dunn and his team investigated rooms 368 and 370 at Mountain Lakes High School for mold. After removing a portion of the wall, carpet under the ventilators, and the tile floor, a new air quality inspection test was done. We received the results which indicated the rooms are mold free. Thank you Ryan Dunn for your quick action!
SGO and My Learning Plan
Thank you all for your patience and help as I continue to work through My Learning Plan. At this time, everyone should have the NJ SGO Form in your portfolio. The old one's have been removed. Please continue to work on your SGO's; they are due by October 29. Administrators, Supervisors and I will review them as you complete them. I enjoy reading about this great work for our students. Thank you to the DEAC/SCIP committee for providing the training for evaluations and SGO's. Please email me all of your SGO and evaluation questions. Thank you to Brandon Horn for fielding many questions, however, please send them to me and I will get your answers as quickly as possible. Thank you.

Lake Drive Celebrated 50 Years!
Congratulations to Julie Lazeration and the Lake Drive Staff for celebrating 50 Years! The celebration was complete with food trucks, entertainment, games and fun! The honored guests applauded this incredible program for the long rich history of working and learning with deaf or hard of hearing students. Assemblyman Bucco shared how proud he was of the program and read a NJ Legislature Resolution! I am so proud of this school and incredibly impressed with your work.
