CTE Opportunities

Starting in 10th grade, LTHS students have the opportunity to pursue and further their career knowledge and skills by participating in career and technical education (CTE) programs. Students who pursue these opportunities attend their core courses at the high school and then hands-on instruction in their program area of interest in place of elective courses here at LTHS. This could be a great opportunity for students who have future career interests in the offered areas or those who aren’t sure what they want to do in the future, especially if they would prefer to be engaged in hands-on learning for half of their school day! Please click here to learn more about CTE programs available to our high school students and have your student reach out to their school counselor if they might be interested or have any questions.

Mrs. Rippey will be available Monday-Thursday until 4:15 PM. Please schedule an appointment in advance.

Appointments can be scheduled with Mrs. LaPoint at clapoint@loyalsocklancers.org

Mrs. Carpenter's ~ Freshman Seminar and Technology

Mrs. Carpenter’s Freshmen Seminar and Technology class spent time discussing detoxing from digital devices and social media. Three students, Logan Bastian, Gage Patterson, and Dante Cruz wrote a poem on the subject.

Revive and Reconnect

Revive and reconnect, choose life over tech.

Go the opposite direction, stop, to look at your reflection.

Standing in the mirror, are your friends and family near?

Are you texting your bros within the same home?

If the answer is yes, your life is a mess.

You are getting hit by a tsunami, living life as a digital zombie.

Do not be worried there is a solution, a way to fix this digital pollution.

See the button on the side right there?

This is the key to your own self-care.

You’ll soon understand, a whole new world out there full of great plans.

So get off your phone, power it down.

Look up for once, go on, look around.

Communicate with people within our small town.

Now stop listening to us, for this poem is over.

Go tell people our message, to stop full digital enclosure.

~By Logan Bastian, Gage Patterson, and Dante Cruz

Masks - an updated order has been issued by the Secretary of the PA Department of Health. The District WILL follow this new order. Please click here to read through the order.

Travel - Essentially, anyone travelling out of state must quarantine for a period of 14 days unless they get tested within 72 hours prior to returning to Pennsylvania and have a negative test. This includes travel to all states outside of Pennsylvania. Please refer to the PA Department of Health frequently asked questions for guidance on holiday travel.

Please don't hesitate to contact us should you require any further information or clarification.

Masks and face coverings are most definitely not comfortable, but are our new reality. We want to focus our time at school on learning, building positive relationships and keeping each other safe and healthy. Thank you for encouraging a positive attitude from your child.

What if a student doesn't wear a mask properly?

1. Student will be asked by a staff member to put on the mask and cover required areas.

2. If student refuses, and administrator will ask the student to put on the mask.

3. If student refuses, parent/guardian will be contacted.

4. If a student continues to refuse, they will be placed in isolated area away from others or need to be picked up by guardian.

Please remember to wear your mask, wash your hands and maintain a distance of 6 feet from others whenever possible.

There will be no tolerance for intentionally trying to spread germs or any type of related behavior. If this should happen, parents will be contacted. Again, our focus is on learning and safety. We want to maximize every moment we are at school. Thank you for your support!
