We are excited to welcome our kindergarten students to Midview West on Monday, September 11th! Kindergarten Families - If you received this email newsletter, your child is enrolled at West Elementary. We will host a kindergarten presentation during Open House on Tuesday, August 29th at 6:45pm.

All parents should have received a screening appointment for September 5th or 6th. Please be sure to be on time to your screening appointment to help our schedule run smoothly.

Class placements will be determined on Friday, September 8th and will be shared out via email and posted at the entrances of West Elementary on Friday, Sept. 8 at 4:30pm.

Free & Reduced

• The Free and Reduced Meal Program helps ensure that all students have access to nutritious meals! All families are encouraged to apply even if they are unsure if they qualify. Please visit our Food Services web page to read more about Free & Reduced and to complete the application.
  
  Since financial situations change from year to year families must fill out a new application each year.

Attendance Lines

• When a student is absent/tardy parents should telephone West Elementary School at (440) 748-2305 (preferably before 8:00am) and state the reason for the absence/tardy. If such a call is not received, the school will attempt to verify absences by our automated phone system the day the absence occurs. Automated calls are sent out at approximately 9:30am.

Academic Start & End Times

• It’s about that TIME! West Elementary School begins at 8:20am and dismisses at 3:15pm. As a reminder, students are permitted in the buildings 20 minutes before the start of the day.

Supply List

• Have you done your back-to-school shopping yet? Please view the West Supply List to ensure your student has their supplies and materials for the school year!
  

PTA

• We have been challenged by Keystone Elementary! The district with the highest percentage of family and staff memberships by Friday, September 29th will be the champion. The losing school's principal will have to wear the winning school's colors for a spirit day in October.

• Car Riders: Students may be dropped off and picked up using the back car line. Information regarding the car line procedures will be in your child's folder at Open House. There is no office pick-up after 2:30pm. If you are picking your child up prior to 2:30pm, please send a detailed note with the student's name, teacher name, name of the person picking up the student and time you will be picking up.
• Please download the PikMyKid App (available for download in the App Store and Google Play). Your child's account is connected to the primary phone number you have in Final Forms.
• When you arrive at the end of the school day, you will open the PikMyKid App and Announce your arrival to make staff aware that you are here.

• Busing: As a reminder, all bus-related updates and communication are shared with families through the StopFinder App (available for download in the App Store and Google Play).

• RETURNING MIDVIEW TRANSPORTATION FAMILIES: Please log in to your StopFinder account and scroll over to September 5 to ensure the rollover was successful.
• NEW MIDVIEW TRANSPORTATION FAMILIES: Transportation sent an email invite to join StopFinder on August 17. If you did not receive an email, check the “Junk/Spam” folder or double-check the email address listed in FinalForms.
