Thank you to teachers, bus drivers, paraprofessionals, custodians, maintenance, and ancillary staff who assist in making each school day happen and a great place for students to come and learn. We appreciate ALL that each one of you do.

This week Mrs. Frank is nominating Layla Yeadon for the Newberry Elementary student of the week. Layla is in Mrs. Frank’s and Mrs. Price’s 5th grade class. She is a kind and caring student. Layla always works hard during school and participates in class activities. She always has a wonderfully positive attitude and tries her best. Layla has been a pleasure to have in class!

Gracie Johnson is Mrs. George's Student of the Week. Not only does Gracie always come to class with a brilliant smile, she never fails to give 100% in her efforts in math class. She is polite, respectful, and inclusive to everyone. Gracie is quick to volunteer an answer even when she is unsure, willing to take a risk outside of her comfort zone. Outside of school, Gracie is an amazing athlete, shining in basketball, volleyball, and track. She has a fierce determination to be a leader on the court. Gracie is the daughter of Eric and Sarah Johnson, who have 2 other daughters, Sarah and Ellie. Congratulations to Gracie and her family on a consistently well-done job in everything she tackles.

Every Wednesday will be a different wacky day. If your child would like to participate, they will need to pay $1 to their teacher. The funds raised will go directly to your child’s class for field trips or classroom needs.

  • May 11: SIT BY A FRIEND—When your teacher says it’s okay, sit by a friend.

  • May 17: LOCAL HERO DAY/GUM DAY — Dress like one of our local fireman, police officers, ambulance, electric company folks to help celebrate Safety Day or Bring your favorite flavor and when the teacher says it’s ok – chew away!

  • GUM DAY — Bring your favorite flavor and when the teacher says it’s ok – chew away!

  • May 25: DISNEY/MARVEL DAY — What’s your favorite character? Come surprise us.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays until May. Stop in to get homework done and help passing classes. If no students show up, teacher will be leaving at 3:30 p.m.

Change in end of the year - Friday, June 2 - will be a full day of school

Last Day of School for students- Monday, June 5 - dismissal at 11:20 a.m.
