Hello Families!

I hope you all have had a fantastic week. Fall is in the air ... and so are the field trips! It has been so much fun seeing all the smiling faces as our student head out on their adventures. It is wonderful to have such strong community partners to give our students these opportunities!

I want to thank you all for your help making this year's Fall Fundraiser a great success. While we are still tallying the catalog sales, our online sales were over $11,000. A huge portion of these sales goes directly into your children's classrooms. I also want to congratulate Gianna Marshall for winning our Mega Mystery Toy packet from our last weekend of sales. Great Work Everyone!

Today, we received our beginning of the year Spirit Wear order. If you ordered spirit wear, it should have come home with your child today. If you ordered spirit wear, and you did not receive it today, please reach out to your child's teacher.

We had so much fun with Crazy Sock Day today. It was great seeing all the creative ways our kids participated. I'm really looking forward to our next Spirit Day, but remember, that every Friday is Falcon Friday. Keep wearing that Falcon gear!

Here at Pinewood and beyond, you’re going to make mistakes. But remember, that’s normal and okay. One of the best ways to remind yourself that mistakes are okay is to say kind words to yourself and others. For example, “It’s okay,” “I can do it,” and “You’re doing great!” are all kind words you can say. These words can have a big impact on you and others who are making mistakes while learning something new. Next time you see someone learning something new, take the time to offer them some kind words. And when you make a mistake, remember kind words are for you too!

PTC will be meeting Tuesday, October 17th @ 2:45pm in room #2. We are a group of families and staff members who would love your help in planning family-friendly events, awesome assemblies for our kids and finding ways to support and enhance the school community!

As the weather begins to change, we typically see an increase in the number of power outages in the area. Keep in mind that we recently installed generators that can operate our entire campus. Even if the power is out in the area, school will likely be in session. If we do cancel school due to a power outage, or for any other reason, we will notify you through all of our schoolwide communication systems.

We're looking to expand our Substitute Pool for this year. This is not just for people with teaching credentials. We have opportunities for all types of positions ranging from teachers, yard duties, library technicians, instructional aides, and custodial. The great thing about being a substitute is that you can be very flexible with your work schedule. If you are interested in learning more about subbing for our district, call the District Office at (530)644-5416. Start now to be ready by the start of next school year.
