MST Weekly Update
October 27, 2023
Good afternoon to all of our MST family members.
As we reach the end of October, we are also quickly approaching the end of the first quarter of the school year on November 9th. All students should be making sure that they are up to date on all assignments so that their first progress report will indicate that they are On Track to meet competency in every class. Teachers are available after school on their makeup/help days to assist students with work completion. every subject has a makeup day. The schedule can be found under Events on the MST Website: Home | Manchester School of Technology (mansd.org)
Next week is MST's Fall Spirit Week and it includes Halloween (What better week to have a spirit week!). We are allowing costumes on Halloween, but they must be school appropriate. Costumes cannot include weapons of any kind, depict violence or cover faces. Face paints are allowed, but no full masks please. More information about Spirit Week can be found below.
Aviation Museum Gala
On Friday October 13th, Mr. Sullivan’s Aviation Manufacturing students were recognized at the annual Aviation Museum of New Hampshire Gala celebration. The students each received a special pin and certificate from the Yellowbird Society, a private organization that recognizes our future aviators. Doing the honors was Ralph Dionne of Nashua, 96, a U.S. Air Force veteran who participated in the Berlin Airlift as a flight engineer on C-54 transport aircraft.
How fantastic that these young people have a personal connection to such an important historical event—something they'll carry with them for the rest of their lives. Someday they will be able to tell their children and grandchildren that they had the honor of shaking the hand of a Berlin Airlift veteran.
Congratulations to all of them!
National Honor Society
On Thursday October 26th, 11 MST High School students were inducted into the school's chapter of the National Honor Society. To be eligible for induction, a student must demonstrate excellence in the four pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Character.
Our new members of the National Honor Society are: Mouayad Al Abrash (12 grade), Jesselyn Ascencio (11th grade), Owen Carta (11th grade), Marion-Maria Haff (11th grade), Kaydence Jones (11th grade), Michael Letares (12th grade), Jonathan Reyes Santos (11th grade), Isaiah Rivera (12th grade), Megan Shamer (11th grade), Bruno Sweet (12th grade), and Alexandra Wolgamott (12th grade).
We are very proud of all of you!
Manufacturing Field Trip
October is National Manufacturing Month and this week students in Mr. Cassidy's Manufacturing classes went on a field trip to two locations. Their first stop in the morning was at Nashua Community College where they were able to see their program in advanced manufacturing. In the afternoon, the classes visited Jewell Instruments in Manchester, a company that makes high performance sensors & instruments for aerospace, avionic, military, rail, transportation, and industrial markets
