Starting the second week of March, The Mystic Learning Center & Mudflat Studios, are working together on a joint project. Up to 15 pre-teen & teens will be selected, from their application, to be part of a special team to work together to come up with a design for a public bench. This pre-teen & teen team will work with a special teaching artist for multiple weeks to brainstorm what they want to create and then to work together to create the clay tiles, that will become the mural for the public bench.
The teens who create this public bench will forever have their work and creativity on display in our wonderful city of Somerville!
The project will take during the Mystic Learning Center's Night Groups time on Tuesdays from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.
This project will start on Tuesday March 15th and end in May/June with a public party or ceremony of some sort to celebrate putting this special art bench outside in the Mystic Community.
There is no cost to join this project and be part of the art dream team! And you will get free snacks every week, while you work with a great group of teens, and create a memorable piece of art that everyone will see and enjoy. Imagine 5, 10, 15, 30 years from now sitting on the bench with the art you helped to create?!?

If you are not currently a part of the Mystic Learning Center Night Group program, you can still fill out an application to be on this bench project art team. We will just ask you to fill out a Mystic Learning Center Night Groups Application too, when we reach out to you. That's really easy, too! We promise!
