Happy Tiger Tuesday!
Featuring Harrison Elementary School
Harrison Huskies LEAD the PACK
.
Harrison Elementary School encourages huskies to LEAD the PACK in everything they do. They have spent the year highlighting eight (8) attributes and behaviors that teach students how to "lead the pack" effectively.
Harrison' teachers, staff and leadership team are a great example of how to move the WCS mission forward. They work to support the four Strategic Plan Pillars: Empathy, Experience, Adaptability, and Inclusivity.

Have you Heard about the Shamrock Shop?
Kindness can come from all walks of life and ages!
Cooper Williams developed a project of kindness to enrich the lives of others. His idea to provide clothes and supplies for students in need eventually bloomed into an entire store- The Shamrock Shop. Way to go Cooper!
Harrison Huddles
- Once a month, Harrison Huskies gather together in the gym for an assembly.
- Huskies can also wear their Lead the Pack shirts!
Why are they important?
- Each month has a theme around the eight (8) attributes. Mr. Deeds and the staff perform skits to teach the skill of the month. That month's LEADERS OF THE PACK are also recognized.
What have students learned about so far?
- So far, the huskies have learned about Leadership, Empathy, Attitude, {being} Disciplined, Positivity, and Accountability. The next few assemblies will focus on community and kindness.
Harrison Elementary's Student Council is helping to LEAD the PACK!
The Annual Food Drive for Combined Community Services
As a way to give back to the COMMUNITY (one of the eight LEAD the PACK attributes), the Harrison Huskies have an annual food drive for Combined Community Services (CCS). The class that brings in the most food during the food drive even gets to delivery the food to CCS and see the facility.
Executive Director, Randy Polston shared about the impact of the food drive
“The mission of WCS is to inspire and equip all students to continuously acquire and apply knowledge and skills while pursuing their dreams and enriching the lives of others.”
I have personally watched WCS students unload box after box of food as they bring it to the food pantry at CCS. I have watched the smiles of the children as they bring the food in to donate. The children know and understand that they are a part of this mission to enrich lives of others. My heart was touched as I observed Harrison Huskies bring their food in. The children were so excited to watch their food fill up the shelves.
Thank you WCS!!!”
A word from Tim Frame, who oversees the food pantry at CCS:
“For more than 20 years, Warsaw Community Schools has held annual food drives for Dane’s Family Food Pantry at Combined Community Services. During the holiday season, our pantry shelves are filled with nonperishable food items donated from students and staff of WCS. Here at CCS, our motto is “neighbors helping neighbors.”
WCS students and staff have been a very important part of our efforts to fight food insecurity and hunger in our community. They understand that it may be their classmates, friends, families, and co-workers who may find themselves in need and are a perfect example of our mission here at CCS. Countless families over the years have benefited from the generosity of these students and staff and they have become a huge part of the CCS family and our efforts to serve our community.”
All About "Leader In Me"
Harrison's Leadership Team is also serving as the Lead the Pack Action Team

- The book study is helping to builds common language
- The team is going on a few school visits (Ohio and Westfield) to see Leader in Me Schools
- They are planning to observe the Leadership Days (leadership projects with community partners)
- These initiatives have been developed because of the book study:
