Each year Lothrop Learners recognize Memorial Day and our country's fallen heroes with an assembly, poetry and a visit to the cemtary next door to lay some flowers. If you have access to flowers in your yard we welcome a handful of lilacs or a couple of cut flowers. We begin our observance in the cemetary, lay flowers and then return to the gym for the remainder of our assembly.

Lothrop Learners and teachers knocked Cognia out of the park! We are finished with math and ELA and have only one learner who needs to finish a particular part of a test. With all of the bad press surrounding Cognia, I appreciated the "We will figure it out" approach from the staff, which in turn supported out learners. Hardly any hitches at all!

A huge shout out to families for working around Cognia test, it was a huge help and will allow us to return to regular learning faster. When test results are available, we will get them out to you.

The staff of Lothrop School would like to thank the Lothrop PTO, families and especially Ashley Stevens and Courtney Forrest for the amazing Staff Appreciation Week. The food, treats, gift cards, messages and "special visitor" were all fabulous! There was obviously a lot of thought put into all of the details.

We are extremely grateful for the many things that you do for us and for our learners!

We were thrilled to welcome back 3 of our Lothrop Alumni to our Friday morning meet at the beginning of May! They took questions as panalists on different scenarios they have faced in school and in sports where they have had to persevere. All three of these former Lothrop Learners will graduate in June-Congratulations!

Lothrop held its first every performance in the new outdoor classroom! The theme of the concert was "Play Ball" as our performers occupied the amphitheater seating over looking our new ballfield. It was truly a wonderful night. A good time to thank the many hours or work and equipment use donated by Reg Charbonneau and the stone for the base and to finish the project from the Chmielewski's. It is absolutely beautiful and ties in nicely with out walking path.

We are excited to have families and friends in the building again this spring for a Breakfast Social. If you have a family member of friend who is attending, please let them know that they will need to sign in when they arrive to the cafeteria and let staff know when they go to the main building who they are going to see. This is all to support our procedures of knowing who is in the school at all times.
