Student Incentive Program
One of the things we have planned this year to help promote a positive school culture is to establish a recognition system for our students. This will give teachers and staff the ability to acknowledge students who demonstrate attitudes and behaviors that reflect our school mission, which is to inspire students to strive for excellence in academics and responsible citizenry.
You can help us by making donations that we can use as incentives. We are going to provide Melbourne High items, such as t-shirts and sling bags, but the addition of other items would help us create a well-rounded selection for our students.
Examples of possible donations
· Gift cards for area restaurants
· Movie tickets
· Gas cards
Donations can be dropped off in the main office. Please label the items: Attention – Mrs. Kilmer
If you have any questions, please contact me at: kilmer.cindy@brevardschools.org
Thank you in advance for any donations you are able to provide!

Free and Reduced Lunch Information

Covid-19 Information
Additional Covid Testing Location
We understand there is a great need for testing in our community and we wanted to let you know that there are openings to schedule a COVID-19 test for your BPS quarantined student at the Department of Health in Viera for students who want to return to school from quarantined status.
Students who are asymptomatic are able to test on or after day 5 from their last day of exposure (the last day of exposure is considered day 0, the day after is day 1 of the 5 day count). If test results are identified as negative and student remains asymptomatic, they are able to return back to their classroom.
Please click the link below if you would like to schedule a test for your child. This is ONLY for current BPS students who are on quarantine and who meet the criteria listed above.

Health and Safety
Stay home if you are sick: We ask our families to keep children home if they exhibit any Covid-19 symptoms for the safety of our students and staff. It is the most important thing you can do to help us mitigate the spread of Covid-19 on our campus.
What do I do if someone in my home contracts the Covid-19 virus? Please call the principal at 321-952-5880 x24503 if your student, or someone living in your home, contracts the Covid-19 virus. We will help you determine the correct dates for quarantine and when your student can return to campus for instruction.
Clinic Policy: During the pandemic, any student sent home from our school clinic with Covid-19 related symptoms must quarantine for 10 calendar days unless (1) the student receives a negative Covid-19 test and brings the printed result to the school nurse or, (2) the student's family physician diagnoses the student's condition as something other than Covid-19 and writes a note allowing the student to return to school.
Updated Quarantine Information
Quarantine Information: In accordance with guidance from the Brevard Department of Health, students who are contacts to a positive case will not be required to quarantine under the following circumstances:
- The student has had the full Covid vaccine AND is asymptomatic.
- The student has tested positive for the Covid virus in the last 90 days AND is asymptomatic.
- If the student is a contact to a positive case within their home, they can take a Covid test on Day 5 from their last exposure to the positive individual. If the student tests negative for Covid AND is asymptomatic, they can return to campus on Day 6.
We are required to confirm both receipt of the Covid vaccine or a positive Covid test before excusing a student from the quarantine requirement. You may wish to have your student keep a picture of their vaccination card or test result on their cell phone for quick access, or to keep the actual vaccination card or test result in their possession while at school.
