Hello Families of Albany Students,

We are getting excited for the school year to start! Teachers and staff will be returning later this month to prepare their classrooms and plan for a fun year. We are delighted to be welcoming students back and seeing you all soon!

We were awarded the CLiF grant for this year which is worth about $25,000. Through this grant, we will be having various author visits and book give aways throughout the year. More to come about these events and opportunities for our students.

We look forward to partnering with you this year. If you are able to volunteer please email me and let me know! If there's something specific you want to volunteer for, please include that as well. We strive to get parents more involved as we exit the Pandemic. We look forward to having you more involved this year.

Meet & Greet

We hope that you will join us for a Meet & Greet on August 24 from 2:00-3:00 PM. You will get to tour the school and briefly meet your child's teachers. We hope this helps students be less anxious for the first day of school.

Open House

We will have an Open House later for families on September 21 from 4:00-5:30 PM. More info to come within the next few weeks.

Staffing Update

I will be sending out a newsletter towards the end of the month introducing all of our staff to you and letting you know who your child's teachers are!

We are still looking to hire paras, a math interventionist, PT food assistant, and an After School Coordinator. Please encourage people to apply. Please check out these positions and other open positions within OCSU on our new OCSU website. We are transitioning onto a new platform and we appreciate your patience as we work to complete it. If you run into any issues, please let us know so it can be addressed.
