Happy last day of school! What a great year it has been at Mill Valley Elementary. Some of our highlights were...

We are excited to offer one on one meetings with your child's teacher this fall at Student Summit on Monday, August 21st (8:00am - 4:00) and Tuesday, August 22nd (12:00pm - 7:00pm). Your student will receive their "Meet Your Teacher" letter on Tuesday, August 1st by email. In that letter will be a link to sign up for your personal time slot.

On Friday, May 26th you received the SLA Parent Newsletter with a lot of important information, including a save the date for SLA Open House on Tuesday, June 13th! This is a great opportunity to get transportation information and walk through the building. Hope to see you there!

We have so much to celebrate! A special thanks to our teachers and educational assistants for their diligence in teaching and reinforcing expected behaviors at school, and for your continued support at home to reinforce our expectations of being respectful, responsible, and kind.

Here are some highlights from this year!

* Each class again had 10 mindfulness lessons this winter that addressed focus, self-awareness and self-regulation strategies.

* Paw prints were handed out to students who were respectful, responsible or kind. The school earned 12,839 paw prints this year (as of June 6th)!

* Golden Awards were held once a month in the gym! The students had a great time cheering on their schoolmates to see who got the coveted Golden Awards! This year, attendance awards were given to those with perfect monthly attendance in addition to the class and grade that had the best attendance for the month.

We are proud to continue to partner with Clinical Psychology Associates (CPA) to offer on-site counseling services through the summer months for students enrolled in Lakeview Elementary, Mill Valley Elementary, Bay Lane Elementary, Lake Denoon Middle, Muskego Lakes Middle, and Muskego High School. For information about CPA’s services and therapists or to get started with an appointment, please visit our website. Therapeutic services will continue into the 2023-24 school year as well.

Thank you to this wonderful group of MV parents that helped organize the 4th Grade Celebration & Ceremony. It turned out to be an awesome day for our 4th graders. We are so appreciative of our 4th grade teachers that teamed up with the parents to give our MV students a memorable day. Good luck movin' on to middle school!

Mill Valley PTO will host a kindergarten play date on Sunday, August 20th at the Mill Valley playground. Come meet other kindergarten families before the first day of school on August 24th. Look for more details to come.
