Week of October 18th

Our Annual Title I Parent Night will be held, Tuesday October 18th from 5:00 until 8:00 pm. Supper will be served. This year the theme is Careers. Join us for a fun filled and informational evening. Drawing for great door prizes will be held !

There will be no School Thursday and Friday, October 21st and 22nd due to the ND Teacher's Convention

School will be dismissed at 1:00 on Wednesday October 20th, 2021

On Wednesday, October 20th we will have Guest Speakers, Dancers, & Traditional Drum Group.

Mary Morin, an Elder of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa, will meet with students in grades 1-5. She is a retired cultural teacher with many years of experience in storytelling, art and other traditional lessons that are teachings of the Turtle Mountain Anishinabe.

Brenda Slater and Jodi Hajicek are members of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa. They both have many years of experience in doing cultural presentations of traditional dance styles, storytelling along with PowWow ettiquette of the Anishinabe people.

Sloughfoot Traditional Drum Group (lead singer & presenter Mark Hajicek)

This Group are all members of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians and take part in Social PowWows throughout the US and Canada. Songs will be explained in each category and they will tell some history of the Turtle Mountain Chippewa.

We will also have some of our own St. John students perform as well as invited guests.
