Looking Back –
We began our unit on weather with an overview of what causes weather and the various topics that can help us understand why weather changes. We also wanted to look at the difference between climate and weather to better understand what scientists examine in climate change.
Looking Ahead –
We will be getting into more specific elements of weather and prediction this week with the study of air pressure, weather balloons, and other data gathering tools. As we get near the end of this unit, students should be able to look explain what they see on a weather map as indicators of weather change.
Weird science for the week – The Golden-crowned sifaka is an endangered species and was first described in 1974. See what you can find about this animal’s habitat and diet. Scientific name?
