Good morning and welcome to the first week of school!

We are blessed and privileged to be welcoming our students back on campus, beginning with a meet and greet this afternoon from 1-3 p.m. Please see below for details on where to park, where to enter, and what time to arrive. As a reminder, we are doing our best to provide this opportunity for parents to come into the school building for photos, but the safety of our community is still paramount. Please limit your time in each child's classroom to 5-10 minutes at most. If you wish to speak with your child's teachers about any questions or concerns that should be given the attention of a longer conversation, please reach out to schedule a meeting at a different time.

Also in this email are details on arrival and dismissal procedures. SMA prides ourselves on being efficient in carline, however, the first week is always a learning experience for new parents and students, so your patience is appreciated. If you are a new parent, please be ready with a photo ID so we can confirm that you are an authorized pick-up person for your child. As we learn all the new faces in the first few weeks, dismissal will get faster and faster!

Due to COVID precautions, parents will be unable to enter the school building on the first day of school. In lieu of the planned ice cream social, parents and students will be able to come to school on August 30th to take pictures, meet the teacher, and see the classroom. Uniforms are encouraged so families can take "First Day" pictures. We are asking families to spend no longer than 10 minutes in each classroom. Teacher conferences should not be taking place on this day. If you wish to donate (optional) disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer, or tissues, please bring them on this day to avoid backup on the first day arrival.

To ensure social distancing can be achieved, please arrive at the following times:

Elementary school families (K-5) should park in the back parking lot and enter the building directly through the classroom doors. Kindergarten students should enter through the main back door.

Middle school families (6-8) should park in the upper parking lot and enter the building through the main front doors.

Pre-K families should also park in the upper parking lot and enter the building through the Pre-K classroom doors.

If you have siblings in multiple grades, you may park and enter through any of your children's designated entrances.

Tuesday August 31: 7:45-8:10 a.m. Arrival

12:30-12:45 p.m. Dismissal

Students should not bring a lunch. Snack will be provided in PK and K

No ECP

September 1-3: 7:45-8:10 a.m. Arrival

3:00-3:15 p.m. Dismissal

All students must bring lunch and a drink. No hot lunch will be provided

ECP will be available to registered students

St. Mary of the Assumption has received the distinct honor of having Cardinal Gregory visit and celebrate our first school Mass of the year on September 3rd. Parents are welcome to attend, but space is limited and available on first come/first serve basis.

Fall Pictures will take place on September 28th. Students must wear full winter uniform for fall pictures, which will be used in the yearbook. Spring pictures, which will take place in March/April, will be out of uniform.
