Principal Simpson's Message
Greetings PRM Families,
As we approach the time of year set aside for giving thanks, we want to express our sincere gratitude to our school community for all of your encouragement, patience, and support over the last 20 months. We have endured some very challenging times as a united community. We are working so hard every day to meet the growing needs of our school and return to some sense of normalcy. We are slowly but surely gaining momentum and getting back to doing some of the things we love.
Thank you for once again making our Think Pink event a great success! Be on the lookout for information about the Montessori Journey Night/Hands Across PRM event that will take place later this month as well as other upcoming events.
Midterm week is the week of November 8th. We will be sending midterm report cards home on Friday, November 19th. Please continue to nurture and build a strong partnership with your child's teacher so that we are able to have outstanding student outcomes.
We need your help. We have a large number of students coming to school late every day. Please do your best to make sure that your child is at school by 7:45am. We also need to make sure that all students have a mask to wear at school. We continue to run low on our supply of masks because we are giving out nearly 100 or more each day. Covid is still here and our mask mandate is still in place. Please support us by making sure your child is on time to school and has a mask.
PRM and all CPS elementary schools will be participating in a COVID-19 surveillance program that offers pool testing on a weekly basis. This program is optional and requires parental consent. Documentation will be sent home with students in the Wednesday folder and I will share additional information via robocall and robo email. I have attached an information flyer below. Please be on the lookout for this information.
It is our sincere hope that you will continue to be intentional about showing love and care for your family and those you are connected to. Celebrate the meaning of Thanksgiving and how far we have come since last year. We are so grateful for each and every one of you. Stay safe and cherish each other.
Love,
Principal Simpson
