Head Teacher's Message
I hope that you had an enjoyable half-term break and the extra two days as staff returned before students with two INSET Days. These days are essential for staff to undertake further training - whether that be Safeguarding, First Aid, Fire Safety, Data Protection (the list goes on!) - and to develop and plan the curriculum for the following year. We also spent some time focusing on staff wellbeing and ensuring that staff are supported in all aspects of their roles.
We returned to a full day on Wednesday - holding three separate events after school. It was a pleasure to welcome back Year 9 families for their Parent Teacher Consultations so soon after the recent Options Event. We also held a Year 10 & 11 Parent Forum on helping your child prepare for their GCSEs; this was hosted by Learning Performance. Alongside this, FoRTS did a sterling job in running a very successful pre-loved uniform sale.
Easter is early this year, so we have another short but busy half-term ahead of us.
Thank you as always for your support.
~Ms K Dooley | Head Teacher

Webinar - School Governor/Trustee
Governors for Schools is a national charity committed to helping ensure excellent education for children in schools through effective governance. Volunteering as a school governor is a fantastic way to broaden your skills and network, building up board-level experience and helping to set the strategic direction of a school. It’s a chance to see the impact of your decisions first-hand. This webinar will cover the role of school governing boards, how our free service works and the training we provide you with both before and after you are appointed as a school governor. This webinar (on February 29) is for those interested in finding out more about becoming a school governor.
