Second Chance Breakfast
As you know, students at East Haven High School receive free breakfast upon arrival to school. Staff at Sodexo will be offering a "Second Chance Breakfast" at the conclusion of Block 1 for any student who cam in late to school. This means any student who did not have an opportunity to receive breakfast, came in late, etc. can access their free breakfast outside of the LMC or on the upper level in front of the teacher's lounge at the conclusion of Block 1. Please note that this is for the student's one free breakfast that they receive at EHHS. If they already received breakfast when they arrived in the morning and want a second breakfast, they will have to purchase that meal.

Army Educational Outreach Program
Application Due: Feb 29
Program Dates: Summer 2024 Eligibility info on website
Yale's Program in Physics, Engineering, and Biology and the School of Engineering and Applied Science will offer research opportunities for high school students in areas at the interface of physics and biology. The high school student apprentices will develop DEM simulations to investigate the stress history of packings of frictional and non-spherical particles in 3D. The students will learn to use numerical simulations to model geological flows and have significant exposure to scientific programming, the Unix environment, and running large-scale simulations on high-performance computation clusters. The students will also be trained to communicate their research to a broad range of audiences. Apprentices will gain insight into STEM careers, graduate school applications, and DOD graduate fellowships. We expect that the students will be coauthors on a peer-reviewed publication and present their work at an internal summer research symposium and a scientific conference. There are also other opportunities at labs across the country! Apply by Feb 29 (https://click.message.yale.edu/?qs=93a362d330c793bdfed7221479ed5f0b030e0c02a81ea187c7ec5333efbee0e0b3106ae222c2fada3e1d5d591d5189f2d2d39d0148dcdfa6dfa41f0721db12c7)

School Day SAT will be Tuesday, March 26. All juniors will be taking the SAT test on this date. One way that students can meet the College and Career Readiness graduation requirement for math and reading is to reach benchmark on those areas of the SAT. We are offering preparatory SAT courses through the online platform Edgenuity. Students can enroll in these courses by logging onto Edgenuity through Classlink. If they hit the plus sign (+) and select enroll, two courses will be available. The course titles are EHHS SAT Prep Reading and SAT Math Prep.
