Hi Sierra Families,

I would like to introduce our 2023-2024 Student Council members. These 4th and 5th graders are selected by their peers to represent Sierra School. They help plan our monthly Dragon-TASTIC assemblies, run our student store, and organize fundraisers throughout the year. We are proud of this group and look forward to their leadership and new ideas for our students!

Congratulations to: Grayson, Alan, Conner, Kendall, Penny, Polly, Kaden, Ezra, Ryder and Stella!

Happy Fall season!

We are getting back into routines and remembering everything we know from music class. Our kinder first grade classes are remembering how to keep a beat and some of our favorite songs like Aiken Drum. We have also been revisiting how to use hand drums responsibly and play in a drum circle. Second and third grade classes have been doing name games (which has been great fun), told stories like One Day in the Eucalyptus Eucalyptus Tree and Your Name is a Song. 4th and 5th have been learning all about how to play notes B, A and G on their recorders and revisiting rhythm patterns. Ask your student all about what we are doing and maybe they can play you a little something. ☺

Beginning Band started and I am so excited to have extra music time with those

students choosing to go above and beyond. Remember to turn in the required forms to participate. Finally, the after school enrichment class Keyboard will be starting at the end of the month (the 25th ) and I can not wait for that as well. So much great music starting up this month!

TOYS FOR TOTS - It’s early, but not too early to talk about toys! The first day of registration for Toys for Tots is September 30th. Schools do not register families - please visit the Toys for Tots El Dorado County website or the FRC webpage: www.pusdk8.us/page/family-resource-center to plan your registration date and time.

ARE YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IN A TEMPORARY LIVING ARRANGEMENT? – If you had to move out of your home and move in with others, a hotel or other temporary residence due to something urgent, please contact me to see if your child qualifies for my program. I am here to help. Please contact me if you are in need of resources or are in a temporary living situation.
