Parkwood Hill Beginning Band

Beginning Band Boot Camp

For all students who are starting Band for the first time at Parkwood Hill or at Hillwood.

The goal is for students to get a head start prior to the school year with learning how to care for instrument, instrument assembly, holding instrument, embouchure, first sounds! We want students to wait for a band director or private teacher to start playing/ practicing their instrument.

If you cannot attend, we will help you start on your instrument at the start of school.

If you want to start early, contact a private lesson teacher (info below) and they can start you during the summer.

Dates: July 21-23

Times:

• 10am-11am: Trombone, Clarinet, Trumpet, Oboe
• 11am-Noon: Euphonium, Saxophone, Percussion, Flute
• Noon-1pm: Tuba, French Horn, Bassoon

Location: Parkwood Hill Intermediate, Enter Door #3

All students will need a 3 ring binder with pencils and the items on the supply list.

Instruments and Supplies that are purchased from Bells and Sweetwater will be delievered to the school and ready for Bootcamp. Please allow 2-4 weeks! Ordering an instrument is not like going to the grocery store- you may need to shop around!

NO AMAZON INSTRUMENTS! We love Amazon, but not for Band instruments. Please stick with the recommendations that are provided above.

The #1 thing you can do to help your child be successful in creating great playing habits is have a private lesson teacher that helps your child one on one!
