BHS UPDATE ON REMOTE LEARNING
December 9, 2020
Dear BHS students and families,
Just when we thought we were coming back to face to face learning in the building, things changed in a heart beat. I can't say that I am surprised, but saddened none the less. We miss our students more than we can ever describe. We know they need to be in front of us, but we also understand that these are unprecedented times and we will do what ever necessary to help our community fight through this epidemic.
As I am sure you know, MDHHS has ordered the extension of our current epidemic order for another 12 days. That order means that high schools across the state must remain closed until after our regularly scheduled Winter break. This extension did come with some changes to flexibility that will help some of our students in many ways. Primarily, CTE courses will be allowed to resume only to the extent that activities are necessary to complete requirements for a postsecondary credential. Mr. Frey will be announcing later this week which classes this order effects. We will not hold in-person CTE courses this week however. Another flexibility with this order is the allowance of tutoring and academic support services. We will continue to host internet rooms for any student who needs internet resources or help in their studies. We continue to ask that students call ahead to be sure we have enough staff in the building to house the students safely in our classrooms.
We are a school community that supports our communty. Please do not hesitate to call the office if you or someone you know is in need of any assistance. We will do what is necessary to provide caring support for our students and their families through this difficult time.
No matter what holiday you choose to celebrate, I wish you and your families health and love this holiday season.
Together, we are #BUCKSTRONG!
Sincerely,
Mrs. DeMaio
