Happy Last Day of School~
The last day of school... the closing of one door and the opening of another.
As I reflect on all the wonderful things we experienced, challenging times we overcame, and learning that took place, it reminds me of Shakespeare's "Parting is such sweet sorrow..."
We not only have natural parting due to students moving up a grade level, but we also have families moving to different cities, states, and even countries. We also have 3 of our family members retiring. So borrowing Dr. Seuss' words, “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened."
Thank you to all the wonderful parents/guardians for all of your support and entrusting us with your precious children. It has been a wonderful and rewarding year. We hope that you all have a wonderful summer break and look forward to seeing you all in August.
To our 5th grade students; We Wish You the Best in Middle School. We are so proud of your accomplishments and will miss you!
Have a wonderful summer~
Be Active Over the Summer
- Provide Support - support your kids in being active by providing rides, engaging in physical activities with them, arranging for play time, etc.
- Plan Ahead - come up with a weekly schedule or rotate through a list of activities
- Limit Screen Time - while there are benefits to being on a device, there are many negative effects as well, see this article, Screen Time and Children, for more info
- Have fun! It's all about spending time together going on nature walks, playing basketball, or engaging in outdoor activities.
Giving children a device might be the easy thing to do as a parent, but it is not the best thing to do for their development. I hope the ideas above provide a much more productive and healthier options for your family. (The above info is from: https://blog.schoolspecialty.com/staying-active-summer-break/)
Have a great summer~
