Year 7 - Shakespeare Research Project

This fantastic piece was created by Year 7 student Jonathan, who worked hard during the Christmas break on his project.

Students:


  • Miss Shran has nominated Year 8 student Lana for amazing work on the Shakespeare project completed during the Christmas break.
  • Mrs Hopkins has nominated Year 11 students Musa and Adam for a brilliant presentation on Germany for History intervention, which they delivered to their peer group.
  • Miss Fenner has nominated the following Year 11 students for their dedication towards their English Literature revision, Tyler, Guy, Caitlin, Rebecca, Martyna, Dominika, Musa, Joshua and Baixu.
  • Mrs Brown has also nominated the following Year 11 students, Amelia, for commitment to the subject and completing extra work with me to address targets and Aidan for re-reading Dr Jeykll and Mr Hyde outside lessons to build his knowledge of the narrative.
  • Mr Lee has nominated the following students for writing excellent step by step guides to solving exam style questions this week in Maths, Year 7 students Emily, Rhema and Kian and Year 9 students Gabrielle and Lacy.
  • Mrs Vaghadia has nominated the following, Year 10 student Halle for creating a great timeline in Sociology for LGBT and Annabelle for great improvement in Sociology. Year 11 student Joshua for great focus in Sociology and Year 12 Psychology students Taylor and Jasmine for for their consistent enthusiasm and proactive nature in the lesson. Always going above and beyond in the lesson.
  • Miss McGrath has nominated her Year 13 Biologists for brilliant work when applying their knowledge and understanding of DNA to different situations in DNA analysis.

  • Mrs Morgan has nominated Year 7 STEM group for their efforts in Food Technology, in particular Ellie, Hollie and James.
  • Mr Harley has nominated Rebecca in 7SW for her resilience and hard work in Design and Technology, Year 10 student Harry for his contribution to the Engineering lessons and Year 12 student Federico for his excellent lathe work in Engineering.

Attendance Matters

Every single day a student is absent from school equates to a day lost of learning. At Corby Technical School we pride ourselves in maintaining excellent attendance. Our target is to achieve and maintain a whole school attendance of above 96.5%. We will be giving you weekly updates on our whole school attendance, the tutor group and house who achieved the highest attendance this week.

Whole school attendance this week is 96.34%, just below our target of 96.5%, we must all try and achieve this target each week.

Best Tutor Group

Best tutor groups this week are 9C with 100%, well done to all students in 9C and Mr McRae-Smith.

House Winner

House winners are C house with 96.56%, well done to all students in Cayley and Coleman.

Reminders:

  • If you have not yet returned the reply slip included in your child's report, please do this before Tuesday 15th January.
  • Due to the ongoing work currently being completed on Cottingham Road, we currently have traffic lights in the school car park, please avoid using the car park where possible, can we also ask that parents using the gravel car park are mindful of the traffic lights when exiting the car park.
