January 2022 Newsletter
Dear CCES Families,
Welcome 2022! Welcome back CCES!
In March of 2020, which seems like so long ago, many people felt like the earth stood still for a brief moment, or at least was turned upside down. Many may still feel that way sometimes and it seems that things will never truly be what they used to be, but there is so much beauty in that scenario. Author Steve Maraboli once said, “I love that this morning’s sunrise does not define itself by last night’s sunset.” This new year will not be defined by yesterday’s, last year’s, or even 2020’s sunsets. No matter where we left off the year we know that the sunrise can bring new life, new hope, and new beginnings. This is our hope for CCES!
Dalai Lama said, “Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before.” We believe that this gives us the opportunity to look forward to a new year, 2022, with a new lens of possibilities. Maybe this is the year you go somewhere you’ve never been before physically. It could also be the year that you reach a new place of peace, joy, or happiness you never had before. Maybe you reach a place of taking care of yourself or others like you never have before, finding a new level of gratitude and thankfulness for those around you. Maybe we try a new recipe, a new restaurant, a new route to work, a new song, or a new look, whatever it may be, do it with all that is inside of you. Dare to go somewhere you never have been before and be sure to enjoy the journey along the way. Let’s hope for a new year full of new life, hope, adventure, success, mistakes in which we learn from, growth, and new opportunities.
We hope to have an amazing 2022 and remember, we are here if you need us.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Carr and Ms. Wyman

Changes to Covid Protocol
1. Positive Cases will only need to quarantine for a maximum of five days, as long as symptoms have been relieved, including being fever free without medication for 24hrs, and the positive person must continue to wear a mask for an additional five days. Masking is still mandatory at school and if students or staff do not feel well, they should not come to work or school.
2. Close Contacts do not need to quarantine if:
- They are boosted, if eligible.
- Fully vaccinated but not eligible for a booster.
- They have completed their mRNA vaccinations within the past six months.
- They participate in pooled testing.
- They attend or work in a school with a mandatory masking policy.
3. Close Contacts will still be notified so they can monitor for symptoms.
Due to the RSU 64's mandatory masking policy, only positive individuals should need to quarantine based on these revisions.
RSU 64's participation in pooled testing will continue to be one of the best tools in identifying the COVID-19 virus and keeping it out of our schools.
Pooled Testing.
Pooled testing allows us to test a greater number of participants with just one test. Should the pool come back positive for Covid 19, each individual that is part of that pool is tested again to identify the positive case.
If you are interested in learning more about pooled testing or would like to sign your child up to participate in pooled testing, please contact the main office here at school.
