Shout Out
Take a minute to let me know all about it by filling out THIS FORM.
Students, Parents, and Staff can give a shout out to any Slater Schools employee! We'll make sure they receive a copy of it and will look for ways to share them with you throughout the year as well.
Let's get to bragging about all the good people around here!
Old Business
Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It:
Wildcats, Sarah Gray is the Managing Editor of the Marshall Democrat News. She reached out to me recently with the following message:
...Several years ago in Concordia I had about 5 high schoolers agree to give up social media for a week, and then answer questions about the experience. I hope to have a couple of Marshall students and a couple of Slater students...
If you are interested in participating in this, please let me know. Ms. Gray will need to have parental consent (she'll send the form).
Supermodels
Here's what I just received from Tammy Kersiek (she owns LeeStudio and it who took Senior Composites last month):
I am loading the gallery for the Senior Class of 2023 today.
The steps to access it are the following:
1. Go to my website: www.leestudiophotography.com
2. Click the galleries tab
3. Click on the Slater Class of 2023 event
4. Passcode: 10241
5. Click on dot on left for thumbnails to drop down.
6. If parents want to order prints, they can just add them to the cart and checkout.
7. If they want a digital download with copyright release that they can print wherever they want, it's $25 dollars. They can drop off check or cash for that at studio, or give to you in an envelope at school and I will get it when I come down for spring sports.
I automatically edit blemishes, stray hairs, glass glare, whiten teeth but if they have any other concerns, have them reach out to me at the studio (660) 886-7313.
I am putting a two week deadline on this so that I can get all the editing done at end of February or first of March. Once spring sports hit, it just gets really busy until graduation.
Thanks.
TK
** Students need to email Ms. Wiseman (mwiseman@slaterschools.net) with full composite # of the picture they want on the school's composite picture. EVERY STUDENT needs to let us know their preferred picture by February 24. **
To recap:
- You do not have to order a photo, but you do need to let us know which shot to use. Mrs. Kersiek will edit the photos purchased and/or the photo selected for the composite.
- You need to share your school composite # with Ms. Wiseman, but if you're ordering prints or digital copies, you'll do that online.
Restricted
We need that area for District vehicles and staff members.
Thank you!
Where'd You Go?
Posted
Due to liability concerns from MUSIC, our insurance company, pets are not permitted on school property.
This excludes service animals and classroom/curricular animals, pre approved by a Building Principal.
Parking Spot Painting
If you earned a reserved parking spot (21-22 Students of the Month, Field Day Winners - see the list below), you're officially able to begin the painting process! See the Contract below. Printed copies are available in the HS Office.
Spoiler alert:
- There's a $25 deposit this year. You'll get it back after repainting your spot at a day and time to be determined. Materials for this will be provided by the school.
Clarification:
You don't have to be on the list to park at school/drive. These are the students who have earned reserved spots that they may choose to personalize by painting. If you don't have a reserved spot, you can park in the Gravel Lot south of the HS Building or North of the ECC, off of Morgan Street.
