Mills Elementary School
Principal Update- Summer Edition- July 24, 2023
Let's get this school year started! 🥳
Hello, Mills Families,
It is hard to believe, but the first day of school is right around the corner! I look forward to hearing about your summer adventures. This upcoming 2023-2024 school year is geared up to be the best one yet!
This year, Mills celebrates our 25th anniversary. We have so much to celebrate. Our students and staff set the bar high for academic excellence in a nurturing environment that celebrates the whole child. This is achieved through the intentional partnerships with our generous and supportive families and community.
I welcome you to join us on our continued quest for excellence in serving our students and community. Please do not hesitate to reach out to teachers, administrators, and school staff. Volunteer when you can! Partnerships with families and support from volunteers are critical to our school success. We welcome your help/partnership and we know we cannot do it without your consistent support and collaboration.
I'm excited to announce that we have a new and improved school website! This is due to the hard work of our campus tech/innovation coach, Sara Sanchez. The website will be your go-to for school and district updates and communication, in addition to teacher and principal newsletters. https://mills.austinschools.org/
The front office team will be fully staffed beginning July 24. Please let us know how we can serve you. All staff return August 4 to begin planning and prep in their classrooms.
Enjoy the last few weeks of summer vacation! Here's to a wonderful year at Mills Elementary!
Respectfully,
Angela Frageman

Why is PTA important? What are the benefits?
- Get Connected. There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school.
- Discover Great Resources.
- The PTA offers a variety of programs designed for parents as well as students.
- Tap into a Network. PTA functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind. You can share ideas, concerns, and experiences.
- Watch Yourself Grow. By volunteering with your PTA, you put your skills and hobbies to use for a noble cause—your child and all children in the community.
- Speak Up. PTA can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change at your child’s school.
Witness Improvement. By getting involved at your child’s school you’ll be part of the solution, helping make positive changes. Local PTAs play an important role in fundraising to provide building improvements, curriculum-based programs, and social events.
Be a Role Model. By becoming a PTA member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.
