Green Meadow Update
Robert Rouleau
Let's Play Chess - Grade 3
Green Meadow is once again having a “Checkers/Chess Club” for third grade students this year hosted by Mr. Duffy. We had this program last year and it was very popular with the students. We ended up having a total of 24 students in this club last year.
The goal of this club is to engage students, by teaching them the games as well as strategies for both board games. Whether you have played these games before or not, all are welcome.
This club is a perfect way for students to unwind after the school day. These board games teach students skills beyond just playing.
Here are some skills that this club will be focusing on while the students play:
- Building patience
- Building strategies
- Gaining confidence
- Problem solving
- Good sportsmanship

Notes from the Nurses
Let’s talk about lice!
While teachers and staff are taking appropriate measures with prevention at school, it is equally important for parents/guardians to play an active role in preventing the spread of lice.
At home, please continue to remind your child /children about how lice are spread:
· Hugging
· Sharing clothing and items such as winter hats, helmets, hairbrushes and accessories, pillows, blankets, stuffed animals
· Sitting in close proximity where their heads may be touching such as on the school bus, at sleepovers, and after-school activities such as sports and dance
Please take a look at the following link, “11 Best Lice Prevention Sprays Proven to Help Avoid Lice in 2022”
Thank you for your support!
