WEEK OF 9/10/23
Principal Ponderings
Good Afternoon Blackhawks,
I imagine between last week's heat, the busy fall sports schedules, and our first "nearly full" week of classes, you had some pretty tired kiddos on your hands this weekend. I hope you all managed to enjoy some downtime. I'm going to be very brief today as there are a number of important updates below and I don't want to take up too much of your Sunday afternoon!
I have just a few things to specifically call your attention to:
- Today is the final day of the Fall Spirit Store sale. Don't miss out on this opportunity to get your PES t-shirts, water bottles, hats, etc.
- Please remember that you can now access contact info for your child's classmates' parents and guardians directly through Alma. (If the family gave permission.) Please contact us in the office if you have questions. (office@plainfieldschool.org)
- During my Sunday morning coffee, I happened upon this New Yorker article about parent - teacher communication. This is an important topic and, based on our spring surveys, it is one very much on the minds of teachers and parents here in Plainfield. I would love to hear your thoughts on the article and look forward to continuing the conversation throughout the upcoming year.
- Finally, we have seen an uptick in Covid cases in the Plainfield community, including here at school. Please read the Nurse's Notes below for more information regarding our efforts to prevent a widespread outbreak.
Thanks everyone, looking forward to another great week!
Best,
Audra Bucklin, Principal

OFFICE NOTES
Important Reminders from the Plainfield School Office
Please review this brief summary of the most up-to-date CDC Covid protocols. PES follows the NH DHHS guidance which is currently one and the same as the CDC guidance. There are a lot of viruses going around right now. While Covid numbers have been low here at PES so far, please be reminded you must still test when symptoms are present A positive Covid test requires 5 days quarantine and 5 days of additional masking. Let’s work together to keep our numbers low and our attendance (for both staff and students) strong by preventing the spread of Covid to the extent possible. We have covid tests available in the office and nurse’s office.
The School Spirit Wear store closes this SUNDAY, 9/10! Don’t forget to place your orders! (See attached flyer)
