THESE LADIES MADE GRHS HISTORY! THE VERY FIRST TIME EVER GRHS MADE THE FINALS AND THEY CAME IN AN IMPRESSIVE 7TH OUT OF 61 TEAMS AT THE STATE COMPETITION THIS WEEKEND! SUPER PROUD OF YOU LADIES!
A Message From Heather Patterson, GRHS Principal
Happy Sunday GRHS Longhorns,
In the words of the GR-eat Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.....we are going to KEEP MOVING! I apologize for the lateness in the GRHS news this week! I was in Dallas with our UIL Cheer Squad (aka - GRHS history makers) and then took a little time to enjoy my own family. I heard and saw through Twitter that we had LOTS of winning and medaling for the Ranch this weekend from sports, to clubs, and our organizations all competing! *Remember, I send out updates and results as soon as coaches and sponsors get them to me, and sometimes that is after the news for that week! Thanks for your patience, as we will always do our best to highlight our Longhorns accomplishments.
Tardies and ID's:
Tardies are alive and well, so please make sure you are following the bell schedule that has been posted since day one. See the tardy consequences below! Detention, ISS, and Saturday clock hours are in full effect!
If you do not have an ID at this point, (because you have lost BOTH of them that we gifted you) you will need to purchase a new one for $5 in the library from 8:00-8:15am.
If you choose not to, there will be a HOLD placed on your account for the end of year. (exemptions/graduation/final grades, etc)
- REMEMBER: NO ID ON = No Phone/Airpods/Headphones! ID's are mandatory! No more temporaries will be issued. If you need a NEW ID/Lanyard- can be purchased for $5 in the library from 8:00-8:15 daily! Lanyards/ID's should be on the second you step through the doors each day. Please make sure you are following this rule as well as being in dress code and to ensure that you are not written up for non compliance.
The front office is open daily Monday- Friday 8:00-4:00pm to assist you. You can also directly email us or call 832-223-4200 during the same hours. We are happy to help!

Behavior Reminders!
- No ID = NO PHONE USE (even at lunch) If you refuse to put them up, it's a write up.
- Phones must be put away at all times in the classrooms, unless there is an instruction purpose GIVEN by the teacher and the sign is on GREEN. If you refuse to follow this, it will be a write up.
- Ignoring teachers/staff when they are asking you to put on ID or to put your phone up will be a write up. (That's just disrespect)
- In the hallways without an ID AND a pass during class time, will be a write up. Parents- if you wonder why grades are slipping...it's their personal devices and lack of urgency to participate in class.
- Instigating, participating, or videoing an altercation (regardless of how small) will be a write up. If you are part of a fight, you will be placed at ALC.
Let me say...that you are BETTER than this, but the lack of respect (post COVID) that many are showing is not fair to the MAJORITY of our Longhorns and Staff that are here putting in the work each and every day. Do better...because you ARE better!
ID's Mandatory! We GIFTED you a NEW one (as a back up) this PAST WEEK!
- LANYARDS W/GRHS ISSUED ID - ALL GRHS STUDENTS SHOULD NOW HAVE AN ID AND LANYARD AND ARE EXPECTED TO BE WEARING IT 100% OF THE TIME INSIDE OUR BUILDING!
