Announcements & Updates

- The Mountain View Middle School Winter music concert will be held on Wednesday, December 7. The event will consist of 3 mini-concerts, beginning with Orchestra at 6:00 p.m. All are welcome.


- Important reminder for 8th grade parents: If your child is attending the 8th grade trip to Gettysburg/Hershey and you have yet to review the communication from Mrs. Toth emailed November 8, please do so. A deposit of $175.00 is due by December 16 to secure your child's spot on the trip.


- Good luck to the second-ranked Chester-Mendham Middle School Ice Hockey team as they take on first-ranked Mount Olive in the tournament finals on Sunday, 7:30 p.m. at SportsCare Arena in Randolph.

Happy Friday Mountain View, and Happy December! Our 5th graders had a special guest join them yesterday during EEE. Author Danielle Gasalberti met with the 5th grade in the Reading Nook to share with them her book Love Your Selfie, the story of 3 friends who learn to overcome negativity on social media, and work to empower those around them. Danielle Gasalberti’s visit was perfect timing as the 5th grade will be beginning their NJBar Foundation Bullying Prevention lessons today. The first lesson of the six-lesson unit will focus on building relationships and respecting differences. Throughout the unit, 5th graders will be asked to reflect on the experiences of Lauren, Lisa, and Nicole from Love Your Selfie.

Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders spent their Advisory block today developing ‘game plans’ for collecting items for our CASA Care Kits and using creativity to create potential flyers to post around the school to remind students of our collection and the reasoning behind it. The goal of today’s Advisory is to ensure that the students are involved and ‘hands-on’ with our service learning partner. More information on when the collection will begin and what items are needed will be shared soon! Have a great weekend.
