A Message from the Principal
Hello ALMS Families,
What a busy time of year! We have had so many events happening this past week, and there are still so many to come before we break for the Holidays! Please make sure to see all of our fliers below! From Bongo's Bingo to Karaoke to a fun Giveaway, there are so many exciting activities for our students to participate in! Not to mention a Spirit Week; see below for all the details!
We want to thank our participating students and staff who make Albert Leonard a great place to learn, work, and have fun!
Next Wednesday, December 20th, ALMS will hold its instrumental concert starting at 7:00 pm. Students participating in the concert are expected to return to school by 6:15 pm, ready to warm up in the cafeteria. The dress is concert black. Students must bring their instruments and binder.
Finally, next Friday, December 22nd, we will have Rapid Dismissal, so we will get out of school 15 minutes early to practice that protocol. No one will be allowed back in the building once we dismiss.
Happy Hanukkah to all those who celebrate!
Warm Regards,
Camille Edwards-Thomas

Teacher Spotlight: Ms. Bongo's Class Learn about Taxation without Representation
Ms. Bongo's Class learned about some of the reasons why the 13 Colonies rebelled against the English Monarchy! Students were given beads to act as currency, where they were then taxed by the "Queen of the Class" (Ms. Bongo) to show how the colonists felt when they were unfairly taxed by the British. Some of the specific examples included the Sugar Act, and Stamp Act.
