Updated 23-24 School Calendar

Champaign County is expected to be in the path of totality for the solar eclipse and it is anticipated there will be a lot of traffic throughout the area. All Champaign County and Logan County Schools will not be in session on this day to ensure safety in the area.
Arrival and Dismissal at GMS
Please remember that under no circumstance can we block the entrance from route 36, the cross roads within the parking lot, or the access to the side roads for the busses.
Free/Reduced Meal Information and New State Budget Bill
The signed Ohio budget bill includes a provision for the state to cover the cost for reduced price breakfast and lunch. This means that students that qualify for reduced meals will now receive breakfast and lunch for free. We encourage all families to complete a free/reduced meal application for the 2023-2024 school year as eligibility requirements have also changed making this opportunity even more accessible.
Please visit our website at https://www.grahamlocalschools.org/.../district-forms/398352 or apply online at https://www.payschoolscentral.com/
Printed forms may be emailed to Mrs. Skinner at skinnera@grahamlocalschools.org

Immunizations for Grade 7 - Due within first 14 days !!!
Ohio Law requires that all seventh graders must have received multiple immunizations. Before starting school, students in the 7th grade must have a Tdap (Tetanus, Diptheria, and Pertussis) and a Meningococcal vaccine. Written proof of receiving these vaccinations must be on file in the school office. Students who do not have evidence of proper immunizations or waivers will be excluded from school after 14 days, per Ohio Revised Code.
If your doctor says immunization might be harmful to your student, a waiver must be on file. If you object to immunization for good cause, for example religious convictions, a waiver must be on file.
If you need them to be faxed, our Fax number at GMS is 937-663-4674
Vacation Request Form Required. State Attendance Laws DO NOT Recognize "Vacation."
Water Bottles
Graham Middle School is fortunate to have multiple water bottle filling stations throughout the building. Students are welcome to bring their own water bottles. However, water bottles may only contain water. Students are not permitted to bring coffee, tea, pop, juice, gatorade, etc to class with them. Water bottles must have a lid that will close securely to prevent leaks. Water bottles with a squirt top of any kind are not permitted. Water bottles are to remain on the floor in class, not on student desks.
Dress Code
The Graham Middle School Dress Code requires neat, clean, and appropriate dress and grooming. Students dress and appearance should contribute to, rather than interrupt, the learning process. The dress code is in effect at all times, including at Graham Local School-sponsored events. As styles and fashions change, members of the administration reserve the right to make the final decision on acceptable student dress.
Dress that is disruptive to the learning environment will be considered a dress code violation.
Sandals/Slides may be worn as long as a teacher has not indicated students are participating in a Lab experience that will require certain shoes for safety.
Dresses, Skirts, or Shorts must be at fingertip length.

Cell Phones & Smart Watches
Unless directed by a staff member, Cell phones and Smart Watches are to remain off and in student lockers upon entering the building and should not be used until after the final dismissal bell and students have exited the classroom. In effect, cell phones should not be “seen, heard, or used” during this time. Also, cell phones should NOT be used to take any type of photograph, video, or recording at any time unless directed by a staff member.
