I'm so excited to be welcoming students back to our building in just a few days. Our staff has been working diligently to ensure that your student has a successful and enjoyable school year. Please take a few moments to review the following updates to ensure that your child is fully prepared for the start of classes on September 7th.

Our school day begins each morning at 8:05AM. Your student is expected to be in their seat, ready to learn at that time. If your student arrives late to school, they will need to enter through the main office, and provide a note in order to get a late pass. Although we understand that students sometimes are late to school, please make every effort to get them to the building prior to 8:05AM.

Daily dismissal occurs at 2:33PM. Parents who are picking up their students at dismissal may line up, in their vehicles, outside in the parking lot by the main office doors. Please remain in your vehicle during that time and be cognizant of those who may be walking in the parking lot.

If you need to pick your child up from school early, please provide your student with a note, in advance, to bring to the main office. Please remember that all individuals who are picking up your student must be listed as a adult cleared for pickup in ESchool. All individuals will be asked to show photo ID when picking up your student.

Parents should send a note explaining any school absence to the main office. Students who are out of school for more than 18 days in a school year are defined as chronically absent by NYSED. Good school attendance helps ensure that students have the instruction that they need in order to successfully complete their academic programming.

New York State has not issued COVID guidance for school districts for the upcoming school year. This year, we are asking for your help and recommend the following:

• If your child is feeling ill, please do not send them to school.
• If your student experiences symptoms of COVID, please get tested and/or contact your healthcare provider. Any students who experience COVID symptoms while in school will be sent home pending the results of a COVID test or resolution of symptoms. The district does have at home COVID tests to provide to you, should you need one.
• Please have your child remain home from school for five days if you test positive for COVID. The Department of Health also recommends that individuals wear a mask for the first five days of their return to school.

If your student is in 11th or 12th grade and would like to drive to school this year, they will need to fill out a student driver form with their vehicle information. This form can be obtained from the main office staff and will need to be signed by a parent/guardian. Additionally, students will need to meet with Mr. Galvin to go over campus expectations for student drivers. Students who have completed these tasks will be provided with a campus parking tag for the school year.

• September 7: First day of school for students
• September 15: Secondary School Open House 6-8:05PM
• October 7: Superintendent's Conference Day
• October 10: Columbus Day- No School

The district has started utilizing a new payment system, called TITAN School Solutions, where you can make online payments for your students’ meals. We will no longer be utilizing MySchoolBucks, so you will be unable to make payments with your previous account. The district has worked with the TITAN School Solutions team to ensure that funds that were in your previous accounts have been transferred to the new payment system.

As you may already be aware, we are piloting our Chromebook Loan program. We will be providing your student with a Chromebook to use during the school day. We ask that each family read and sign the Device Loan Agreement. A paper copy of this agreement will go home with your child on the first day of school. Please read, sign, and return bottom of the final page of the agreement by Friday, September 9th. The agreement is linked below for your review.

Our district has enrolled in a new caregiver notification system. This system allows you to:

• Receive messages from the school via email, text or app notification.
• Choose to receive information as it comes or all at once.
• Communicate in your preferred language.
