Mill Valley Weekly
October 6, 2022
Hello Mill Valley Families,
We had our first GOLDEN AWARDS yesterday, celebrating classrooms being respectful, responsible and kind throughout our entire school. Golden Award assemblies celebrate the amazing things our classes are doing in places around our building throughout each month. Golden Awards recognize entire classrooms for demonstrating positive behaviors in areas such as the art room, lunchroom, and the bus. See the pictures of our winners below.
Beginning Monday, October 10th, we will be announcing the recipients of the Respectful Royalty Awards. Twice a month, teachers select a student who has demonstrated being respectful in the classroom. These students go above and beyond everyday and are positive role models. They truly embody what it means to be a Mill Valley Wolf. Student will receive a special crown to display on their lockers for two weeks as well as have their royalty picture posted on our Respectful Royalty bulletin board. Parents will receive an email sharing why their student was selected by their teacher.
Sincerely,
Robin Schrot, Principal
Allyce Harris, Associate Principal

Did you know...
Although most of the research available targets students that are missing 10% of the school year, Ralph Smith, Executive Vice President of the Annie E. Casey Foundation, states "The reality is an absence is an absence, excused or not, and that child is not in that classroom benefiting from the instruction on that day.”
Parent Flier from Attendance Works
FYI - if you choose to take your child home after a field trip or school event before 2:30, the absence is recorded as a half day.
Halloween Parade at Mill Valley ~ Friday, October 28th
