Dear MMS Students and Families,

The 2023-24 school year is underway and what a great start we've had welcoming all of our Mustangs back to school! September is an exciting time of transitions, fresh starts and hopefulness for the academic year that lies ahead. It also brings the beginning of our school sports seasons, the start up of clubs and other after school activities, and lots of opportunities to get involved.

In our family newsletters you will always find a list of important dates and events that will be happening, updates from classes and any other important district information. The family handbook will be a link at the bottom of every newsletter for your referral.

October 5 - MEA testing (NWEA Through Year Reading)

October 6 - NO SCHOOL (Teacher Professional Development Day)

October 9 - NO SCHOOL (Indigenous People's Day)

October 12 - MEA testing (NWEA Through Year Math)

October 18 - Early Release Day

October 19 - NWEA testing (Science)

October 28 - MMS Halloween Carnival

As the high school and middle school sports seasons begin, a reminder to families that middle school students are encouraged to attend and show their Mustang spirit at athletic events, but please note that all middle school students in attendance must be accompanied by an adult at the event. Thank you for your help with this!

The Math Team is made up of sixth, seventh, and eighth graders with a group competing at each grade level. We meet during the school day and everyone is welcome!

Teams will compete with other southern Maine middle schools in four meets throughout the school year.

If your middle school student is interested in joining the math team, please encourage them to check-in with their team math teacher or Ms. Locke, the MMS Math Team Coach for more information.

Do you have the ParentVUE app? Please be sure to download the Parent VUE app or access the site online to view your student's gradebook, assignments, schedule and more. Student gradebooks are updated frequently and we ask that you regularly check your student's account. Please contact our main office for assistance if you have trouble activating or accessing your account.
